The Trouser Trumpets
The Trouser Trumpets are a Whitstable based nine piece comedy band, with whom immediate comparisons may be made with both The Bonzo's and The Temperence Seven. Their repertoire stretches through an eclectic mix of tunes from old time 1920's jazz to unique reworkings of rock classics, retro TV themes and original comedic compositions. The Trouser Trumpets have brought their brand of anarchic entertainment to many festival and theatre stages over the past years with rave reviews.
The big band sound, produced by ukulele, sax, trumpet, trombone, a euphonium, washboards, drums, keys and stylophone (not to mention Kazoo) is supported by a gamut of special effects. Crowd participation and synchronized back projections add to the theatrical experience. Slapstick and music hall traditions pepper the performance.
Whether to dance or listen, the show has audience appeal which immediately crosses both age and genre barriers.
